What’s the difference between MB and Mbps?
File sizes are usually measured in megabytes (MB) or gigabytes (GB). Broadband speeds use megabits per second (Mbps). There are 8 bits in a byte, so 100 Mbps can transfer up to 12.5 MB per second before overheads.

How we calculate download time
Time in seconds = file size in megabytes × 8 ÷ speed in Mbps. We use decimal units: 1 GB = 1,000 MB and 1 TB = 1,000 GB. Some devices report binary sizes (MiB or GiB), so their figures can differ. Times of one second or more are rounded up to the next second.
