Sky Ultimate TV overhaul: The new formula for Sky’s TV package

Sky has unveiled a major overhaul of its Ultimate TV package, bringing together Sky TV, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max and Hayu under a single subscription for the first time.

Billed as a world-first streaming bundle, the new-look package aims to simplify subscription TV by combining some of the biggest entertainment brands into one place, one interface and one monthly bill.

With streaming fatigue growing and households juggling multiple direct debits, Sky’s move signals a shift towards consolidation, integrating premium live TV and on-demand streaming into one streamlined experience across Sky Stream, Sky Glass and Sky Q.

What’s included in the bundle?

At its core, the revamped Ultimate TV package blends traditional pay-TV with modern streaming platforms – effectively positioning Sky as a one-stop entertainment hub.

Sky Ultimate TV

Ultimate TV remains the foundation of the bundle. Subscribers get access to more than 130 live channels, including Sky Atlantic, Sky One, Sky Witness, alongside a broad on-demand library and Sky Originals.

This is where flagship series, exclusive dramas and US imports traditionally land first. Live channels still play a major role here, meaning customers get scheduled programming alongside streaming-style on-demand viewing. It’s this hybrid model – live TV plus streaming apps – that Sky is leaning into with the overhaul.

The package works across Sky Stream, Sky Glass and Sky Q, keeping the experience unified regardless of hardware.

Netflix

Netflix continues to be embedded within Ultimate TV, integrated directly into Sky’s interface. That means viewers can search for Netflix content using Sky’s voice controls and see recommendations appear alongside other channels and apps.

From global hits like Stranger Things and The Crown to new film releases and documentaries, Netflix adds mainstream appeal and international reach to the bundle. Rather than managing Netflix separately, it sits comfortably within the broader Sky ecosystem.

For many households, Netflix has become a default subscription and a big draw for some time with Sky TV since it was introduced to packages back in 2018.

Disney+

Disney+ joins the fold as part of the overhaul, expanding the bundle’s family and franchise offering. Subscribers gain access to major brands including Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, National Geographic and Disney’s extensive back catalogue.

From blockbuster series to animated classics and factual programming, Disney+ significantly broadens the demographic appeal of Ultimate TV. Whether it’s family movie nights or the latest superhero spin-off, the service adds depth to the entertainment line-up.

As with Netflix, Disney+ content is integrated within the Sky platform, meaning it can be accessed without juggling multiple remotes or standalone logins.

HBO Max

One of the biggest changes comes with the arrival of HBO Max in the UK and its inclusion within Sky’s revamped Ultimate TV package.

HBO Max brings premium drama and blockbuster films from Warner Bros. Discovery, including high-profile series such as House of the Dragon, The Last of Us and future HBO originals.

Its UK launch marks a significant moment in the streaming landscape, and Sky has positioned itself at the centre of that rollout.

By incorporating HBO Max into Ultimate TV, Sky strengthens its premium credentials and expands access to prestige content that has traditionally defined HBO’s global reputation.

Hayu

Rounding out the package is Hayu, the reality-TV-focused streaming service known for titles like The Real Housewives and Below Deck.

While more niche than the other platforms in the bundle, Hayu brings a loyal and highly engaged audience. Its inclusion helps diversify the overall offering, ensuring the package caters to everything from premium drama to reality entertainment.

As the rollout progresses, Hayu becomes fully integrated alongside the other streaming services, completing the five-service bundle.

TNT Sports moving to HBO Max

A key part of the overhaul involves TNT Sports, which will now be accessed via HBO Max.

For customers who currently subscribe to TNT Sports through Sky, this shift means the sports content on streaming transitions into the HBO Max environment.

The existing standalone channel will still be available, but for those looking for streaming access, TNT Sports will be moving from Discovery+ to HBO Max.

In practical terms, customers will still be able to watch live sports coverage – including Premier League and European Competition club football, Premiership rugby and other major events – but the access point changes. HBO Max becomes the new streaming home of TNT Sports content.

For existing subscribers, Sky has structured the transition so that access continues without disruption, although customers may need to activate or link HBO Max depending on their setup.

Importantly, the sports content remains available; it’s the delivery method that evolves.

Price, availability & rollout

The revamped Ultimate TV package starts from £24 per month, positioning it as a competitively priced entry point considering the number of services included.

However, it’s worth noting that the included streaming tiers are ad-supported by default. Customers who prefer ad-free viewing or premium features, there will be an option to upgrade when customising your package.

Rollout timeline

The integration is being introduced in stages:

  • Disney+ joins the bundle from March (date to be confirmed).
  • HBO Max launches in the UK on 26th March, becoming part of Ultimate TV.
  • Hayu completes its integration from July, with a selection of shows being available from March.

Existing Ultimate TV customers are transitioned into the new structure as the services become available, while new customers signing up receive the unified package from launch.

The phased rollout ensures systems and billing integration are aligned before full completion.

How it works for existing Sky Ultimate TV customers

For current Ultimate TV subscribers, the overhaul is designed to be largely automatic. As each streaming service becomes available, eligible customers are incorporated into the new bundle.

In many cases, activation simply involves logging into or linking the relevant streaming account through Sky’s interface.

Customers who already pay separately for Netflix or Disney+ will be able to consolidate billing into their Sky subscription, depending on account status and eligibility. This simplifies payments into a single monthly bill.

The bundle works across Sky Stream, Sky Glass and Sky Q, meaning there’s no requirement to switch devices to access the updated offering.

Those who prefer ad-free tiers or higher streaming quality, upgrade options will be available. The included versions act as the base level within Ultimate TV, with flexibility to enhance the subscription to eliminate ads and more if desired.
